4,487 Individuals Apply for Apni Chhat Apna Ghar in Bahawalpur

The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program has gained immense popularity among low-income families in Bahawalpur, with 4,487 individuals applying for the housing scheme. In a recent balloting event, 192 people from Bahawalpur district were selected for the project, offering hope for better housing.

The balloting for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme was conducted under the supervision of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in Lahore. It was aimed at providing affordable housing to deserving families. The selection of applicants was based on a transparent balloting system. Director General (DG) of Punjab Housing and Town Planning, Saif Anwar Jappa, and deputy commissioners from various districts participated in the event via video link. Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zaheer Anwar Jappa joined from the commissioner’s office to oversee the balloting process.

Key officials, including Director Punjab Housing Rao Shafiqur Rehman and System Network Administrator Muhammad Azeem Zeeshan, were present at the balloting event.

Anti-Polio Campaign Launched in Bahawalpur

In addition to the housing scheme, Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zaheer Anwar Jappa also launched an anti-polio drive to protect children from polio. The five-day campaign, starting on September 9, will focus on vaccinating over 824,000 children under the age of five.

During the campaign, DC Jappa personally administered polio vaccine drops to children to mark the start of the campaign. Various officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Sumera Rabbani, Assistant Commissioners Dr Sana Ramchand and Ahmed Sher Gondal, and District Health Officer Dr Khalid Channar, were also present.
